Description
Tearitoff low-scratch glue removal wheel and low dust soft concrete tool
Save $50 – overstocked on 30/40 grit 178mm
The unique segment shape of the Tearitoff low-scratch glue removal wheel and soft coatings removal tool prevents smearing and rapidly cleans. They resist glazing, will not clog and the unique diamond segment shape improves the cutting ability so that its hard/medium bond will cut into harder concrete than other medium bond wheels while not wearing away excessively on softer concrete.
Unlike other wheels which throw dust out from under the dust shroud seal when a large quantity of dust is generated on soft concrete the Tearitoff wheel diffuses the dust generated and does not centrifugally fling it outwards. This helps to control dust on soft concrete.
The video below is an example of its unique characteristics where a floor was ground to remove glue with very little marking of the surface. The Tearitoff segment profile removed the glue easily even though 100/120 grit diamonds were used to prevent scratching. A variable speed polisher on a Situp Polisher frame was used because a 230mm (9in) angle grinder would have been too fast and aggressive.
In general a Tearitoff low-scratch glue removal wheel is smooth to use and will work the same as a conventional segmented cupwheel of a lower grit size. If you normally need to use a 16/20 grit wheel for glue or coatings you will find the Tearitoff 20/30 or 30/40 should do the same job and save you a grinding step or in the above video you can use a 100/120 grit.
They are economical to purchase and will not wear away rapidly like a soft bond on softer concrete because they rely on the quality of the diamonds and unique shape of the segments to cut easily rather than the softness of the bond. The Tearitoff low-scratch glue removal wheel will throw less dust due to their shape and will solve many of the problems of other segmented cupwheels.
